No Escape A Legend of Mingary Castle
. . . It takes no prophet to predict a spy's death. We regularly meet our end in execution, most often upon betrayal. My demise lacks the pomp and circumstance that I had imagined: this grim reality does not match the prettier picture in my head. Nonetheless, all mortals meet their end. My words and thoughts are free now; from their prior confines with my skull, they have escaped to the printed page. The village girl, as well, is left to tell her stories, passed down in turn through the generations, achieving an immortality of their own. Over 450 years later, beneath the dark blue, almost gray water of the sound, the Florida sleeps . . .
Told from the perspective of Abner Pryce
Mingary Castle is included in the Highlands Map.
