LINLITHGOW
LINLITHGOW |
Dates from: 1100s Linlithgow Palace is located between the political centers of Edinburgh and Stirling. Originating in the 12th century, the structure was the home of Scotland’s monarchs. The palace was enlarged in 1301, destroyed by fire in 1350, rebuilt during the 15th century, and regularly expanded until 1624. It was burned in 1746 and fell into the ruin visible today. The painting captures a 2006 vantage. Pictured: Linlighgow Palace 8" x 10" oil

The Axis A Legend of Linlithgow Palace
. . . Linlithgow Palace is home to our monarchs, making this courtyard the center of Scotland. A nation in miniature exists here, within these massive walls. Little more than a spectator, I watch the activity transpiring before me. . . .
Told from the perspective
of Earc Abercorn
Linlithgow Palace is included in the Lowlands Map.
