Kilravock Castle

Kilravock Castle is believed to be built over the site of an ancient Christian church near the River Nairn.  An early keep dates to the 15^th century.  The castle was expanded in the 16^th century, with the keep being extended and fortified in the 17^th century.  Further construction occurred in 1730. The painting depicts Kilravock’s appearance in 2007.

A Legend of Kilravock Castle

. . .  A canopy of trees lines the path to a Highlands sanctuary.  Kilravock Castle stands in a haven of forests, hills, valley, and small lochs, all which invite exploration.  Heart-shaped branches, a gooseberry bush growing above the earth, and the River Nairn can all be discovered near the structure . . .
