Craighall Castle - Cerres
SCOTLAND

Dates from:  1200's
Associated Clans / Families:
Kinnimond then Hope

The castle began in the 1500's, built by the Kinnimonds, as a tower house.  In 1635, Craighall was sold to the Hopes.  The castle was remodeled in 1697-90 and sold in 1729.  It was ruinous by the 1900's and completely demolished in 1955.  The painting is a recreation.
