CASTLE |
Dates from: 1200s Since the 13th century, Castle Tioram has controlled the seaways between the Hebrides and the Isle of Skye. Tioram’s curtain wall dates to the 14th century. Expanded and fortified in the 16th century, the castle withstood sieges in 1554 and 1651, but was destroyed in 1715. The painting illustrates the castle’s appearance in 1998.
